Carly and Mark met whilst working together in the Navy but they were destined to be more than just colleagues. One night whilst off duty, Mark decided to share his impression of Moby Dick with the crew (I will leave it for you to work out just what was involved!) – Naturally Carly was smitten. She fell hook, line and sinker for her fellow sailor. In June this year, Carly and Mark were married at Highfield Park in Hampshire and it was an honour to be invited to photograph their very stylish and glamorous wedding. Carly looked beautiful and her girlfriends proved to be very entertaining when it came to throwing the bouquet – or trying to catch it.

Carly and Mark, you guys were great fun to work with and we’re so happy to have been part of your day. Thank you also for feeding us – always appreciated! I’m very envious that you went to Hawaii for your honeymoon – that’s where I want to go for mine! Congratulations to both of you and we wish you many years of happiness together. Carly and Mark have hired me to photograph their wedding at Highfield Park in June and I’m really looking forward to it. As part of all my wedding photography packages I offer a complimentary engagement or pre wedding shoot which gives us an opportunity to get to know each other better and also helps my couples to relax in front of the camera. It helps the photography to run more smoothly on the wedding day because we’ve spent time together beforehand and you’ve had a practise run at posing in front of the camera. You also get to choose your favourite image from the engagement/pre wedding shoot which will be professionally printed and mounted ready for your guests to write comments on at your wedding. Ideally I would have waited until the weather warmed up a bit for Carly and Mark’s engagement shoot but Mark’s job is taking him abroad for six months, right up until the wedding so we put our coats on and headed for Southsea seafront in Hampshire. Oh my word! It was freezing! The wind was bitterly cold and the sea was so rough that the waves were crashing up over the sea wall. As they had their gorgeous baby girl with them, Carly asked if we could keep the shoot as short as possible due to the cold which was fine by me as my fingers were going numb. Carly and Mark are very likeable people and great fun and I’m sure their wedding will be very enjoyable too. Here’s a few photographs from today…
