Lainston House Wedding: Ricky & Louise

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Ricky and Louise at Lainston House in Hampshire. Ricky and Louise make a lovely couple but it wasn't love at first sight... they worked in the same office for a while but Louise thought Ricky was lazy and Ricky thought Louise was Miss Goody Two Shoes! It's no secret that they didn't really like each other and it wasn't until new management moved into the offices and shook things up a bit that love began to blossom. One day whilst moving furniture at work, Ricky and Louise started flirting with each other and it wasn't long before Ricky plucked up the courage to ask Louise out on a date... this date led to many more dates, a lovely baby boy and and a beautiful wedding. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous, Ricky and Louise were certainly blessed by the weather gods with bright blue skies and sunshine. Yesterday evening I met with clients at Rhinefield House Hotel. It was lovely walking around the grounds in the evening sun and I thought I would share a couple of photos I took of the venue. Rhinefield is a country house set deep in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, among tall conifers and scented pines. This grand luxury hotel in Hampshire blends Tudor and Gothic, old and new, romantic and eccentric and looks exquisite sat amongst the trees with its steeply pitched roof, redbrick chimneys and leaded windows. Rhinefield House Hotel is very privileged in having beautiful surroundings and is a perfect for a Hampshire wedding venue. Built in 1887 and set in 40 acres, Rhinefield House, is a 4-star luxury hotel set over a mile and a half from the main road. Pre – Wedding Photography at Lainston House Hampshire

I first met Ricky and Louise at a wedding fayre earlier this year and I'm pleased to say they hired me to photograph their wedding in October. As part of all my wedding packages I offer a complimentary engagement or pre - wedding photography shoot. This is a great way for me to get to know the couple better and also helps them to feel at ease with me and relax in front of the camera. Ricky and Lousie have chosen to get married at the exquisite Lainston House in Hampshire and chose to have their pre-wedding photographs taken in the grounds. This enabled us to share ideas about the wedding photography on the day and together we sought out locations for photographs. Louise was keen to have photos taken during the 'golden hour' before the sun went down and after last week's cloud and rain we weren't sure if there would be any sun at all... but we kept an eye on the weather and arranged a time to meet and I think Louise might just have got her wish :) Ricky and Louise make a lovely couple … [Read more...]

Southampton Wedding at Botleigh Grange Hotel, Hampshire

Southampton and Hampshire Wedding Photography Botleigh Grange Hotel

Yesterday I provided the wedding photography for Stacey and Nathan in Southampton, Hampshire. The ceremony was held at All Saints Church in Eastleigh, Hampshire, followed by a wedding reception at the Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel near Southampton, Hampshire. It was touch and go with the weather as there were downpours of rain throughout the day, but luckily for Stacey and Nathan, there were periods of blue sky and sunshine during which we managed to take a few photos outside and guests could enjoy mingling on the patio area. I'd like to thank Stacey and Nathan for including us in the main meal; it was lovely to sit and chat with some of the guests and the food was delicious. We really do appreciate it when couples make the effort to feed us :) Stacey looked beautiful in her wedding dress and I hope these newlyweds enjoy many happy years together as husband and wife. On Saturday I was up bright and early for the wedding of my good friend Lizzie and her fiance (now husband) Simon. As some of you will know from Thursday's blog post, Lizzie and Simon opted for a vintage tea party wedding held in a marquee in their field in Sway, near the New Forest in Hampshire. I was honoured to be asked to photograph such a special day for my friend and arrived bright and early (8.15am to be precise) to take Lizzie to the hairdressers where I photographed her having her hair done. We then headed back to her cottage to pick up a few final pieces to drop off at St. Andrews Church in Tiptoe before she could continue getting herself ready. I was joined by fellow photographer Kat Hill who travelled down from London to assist me with the wedding photography. It was great to finally meet Kat after chatting on Twitter for the past few months and it was a pleasure to have her along for the day. I have loved art my whole life... as a child I loved being creative and would spend hours making things, painting and drawing and taking photographs. I was a perfectionist ... I wanted to convey every detail and create accurate representations. I loved realism... I wanted to produce images which looked exactly like the original subject matter... But I was also a dreamer with a vivid imagination and was inspired by surrealist painters. Growing up, I was inspired by painters such as Dali, Monet and the great oil painters whose works adorn the walls of the portrait gallery in the Tate. At university I became interested in painters whose work was so realistic and accurate that the paintings looked like photographs. I thought this type of work was amazing and showed real talent. As the years have passed I have found less time for painting but still love imagery and creating beautiful images. I love to record what I see and have focused more and more on photography. Dorset Wedding Photography – Bridal Photo Shoot Studland Beach

On Sunday we took a nice drive down from Southampton in Hampshire to Studland Beach in Dorset for a beach themed bridal shoot with model Emma who is a trained ballet dancer. We used two stunning dresses for this shoot, both designed by Nicki Hill who owns a bridal shop in Botley, Hampshire.
