On Sunday we took a nice drive down from Southampton in Hampshire to Studland Beach in Dorset for a beach themed bridal shoot with model Emma who is a trained ballet dancer. Over the past couple of months I have been busy organising bridal photo shoots in which I have been using gorgeous wedding dresses designed by Nicki Hill. Monday's shoot was a 50s inspired bridal photo shoot which took place at the Legacy Botleigh Grange Hotel near Southampton in Hampshire. I think Claire Wallace did a great job with Crystal's hair and make-up which really sets off this amazing black and white tartan wedding dress. The reason I'm doing these bridal photo shoots is so that all involved have the opportunity to show people what they can do whether it be photography, modelling, hair and make-up or designing wedding dresses. We all love what we do and we don't limit ourselves to using our skills only when we have weddings booked. We are passionate about our crafts and enjoy being creative in our spare time as well as when we have been booked for a wedding. I seem to know so many people who are getting married this year! This week I've been chatting with my friend Maxine who's marrying her fiance Andreas in August this year at the stunning Christchurch Priory in Hampshire, followed by a wedding reception at the beautiful Passford House Hotel in Lymington. Yesterday I provided the wedding photography for Graham and Natalie at the De Vere New Place in Southampton Hampshire with my friend Lizzie. New Place is a wonderful Hampshire wedding venue set in 32 acres of pristine parkland. The Grade I listed manor house is a blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. Natalie and Graham were a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome on their special day, I'd like to wish them every happiness for their future together and hope they'll love their wedding photographs. In June this year, my good friend Lizzie will be marrying her fiance, Simon in a quirky, country fete styled wedding and guess who'll be providing their wedding photography.... none other than yours truly!! Eeeeeek! Lizzie has kindly agreed to share her wedding preparations with us, here's what she had to say... Lizzie met her fiance Simon way back in 1996 - Lizzie was a part time checkout girl in Tescos whilst studying for her A levels and Simon worked in a local building society. Little did they know that fate was at work. Simon had a friend who worked in Tescos who knew Lizzie, and Lizzie's mum was a regular in the building society who kept telling Simon about her daughter who worked in Tescos. Simon and about ten friends started making regular trips to Tesco and would always use Lizzie's checkout... eventually he plucked up the courage to ask her out. Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas and have recovered from your New Year celebrations! Congratulations to those of you who got engaged over the festive season! I should be sunning myself in New Zealand right now but alas I had Pneumonia over Christmas and was unable to travel. Still, it's not the end of the world as I have many great things to look forward to this year with some awesome weddings coming up and hopefully I'll be gaining some much anticipated photography qualifications :O) The summer is starting to look busy already wedding wise and I'll be photographing a very special wedding in June for my friend Lizzie... she's very creative too and we've planned some spectacular photo opportunities for her wedding dayin Hampshire... eeeeek! I've been looking forward to blogging about this wedding for months! Nicola contacted me a while back after she found me on Rock 'n' Roll Bride and told me how much she loved my photos :o))). We arranged to meet and discussed the wedding and photography requirements. Not only had Nicola chosen an amazing wedding venue at the Cotswolds 88 Hotel, she was also a lovely person and I was already looking forward to her big day. Saturday finally arrived and I made the journey from Southampton in Hampshire to the Cotswolds where Nicola was to marry her Australian fiance, Cameron, and the day went without a hitch. Brrrrrrrr!! I'm getting cold shivers just thinking about this!... On Friday Mark and Ingrid had a fantabulous D.I.Y wedding in their home town of Colchester in Essex and they were blessed with a beautiful blanket of snow for their special day (Blessed? I hear you ask... well yes... if it's going to be this cold then it might as well snow right? And I'm sure it created a stunning scene.) Mark and Ingrid chose not to have a professional photographer on their wedding day but arranged to drive for 3 and a half hours (each way!) to come and see me for a fun but chilly Rock the Frock shoot after seeing the photos I did for Katy and Jim featured on Rock n Roll Bride. Mark and Ingrid wanted to be creative with their wedding photography and so yesterday, they headed down to me in Southampton, Hampshire and we headed off to Moors Valley Country Park in Ringwood, Hampshire for some fun photos of just the two of them. On Sunday 26th September I was lucky enough to be working with Amy Wass Photography www.amywass.co.uk photographing the very beautiful, plush wedding of David and Victoria in Hampshire. The wedding ceremony was held at Eling Church (Eling Hill, Totton, Southampton) and the exquisite interior, complete with church candles and flowers made this a truly beautiful setting for such a happy occasion. With bright blue skies and a crisp chill in the air, this felt very much like an autumn/winter wedding. After the ceremony, we headed off to Chewton Glen, a luxury hotel and spa situated on the edge of the New Forest near Christchurch. In fact, it is one of the top rated hotels in the country. After arriving at their reception venue by Rolls Royce, the bride and groom mingled on the terrace with their guests, sipped champagne and enjoyed the sound of classical music being played by a string quartet.
