On Saturday 25th September we got up extra early and drove to Folkestone for the fun and quirky wedding of Katy and Jim. Katy found me on Rock n Roll Bride and was very excited when I emailed her to say I was available to provide wedding photography for her special day…. in fact she screeched so loud she scared her cat! Katy and Jim’s wedding has to be one of the most fun and interesting weddings we have had the privilege to photograph and their artistic personalities shone through in every detail… Katy spent many evenings making felt flower broaches for all of the guests (and photographers) to wear, sewing each one by hand… she even made her own bouquet of felt flowers! Complete with brightly coloured bunting and a retro camper van as the wedding car, this wedding rocked from start to finish. I would like to thank Katy and Jim and their friends and family for making us feel so welcome, they offered us food and drinks in abundance, asked if we were happy and whether they could get us chairs to sit on. Katy and Jim had a band playing hymns in the church which everyone sang along to beautifully and later on, we took the newlyweds for a stroll around the seaside town to capture some fab photos of just the two of them before they headed off to their evening party. Katy said this was the most fun part of her day. This wedding was a perfect example of two people who genuinely love each other and proves that you don’t need to break the bank to celebrate in style.
Here are a few photographs from the day:
