I have loved art my whole life... as a child I loved being creative and would spend hours making things, painting and drawing and taking photographs. I was a perfectionist ... I wanted to convey every detail and create accurate representations. I loved realism... I wanted to produce images which looked exactly like the original subject matter... But I was also a dreamer with a vivid imagination and was inspired by surrealist painters. Growing up, I was inspired by painters such as Dali, Monet and the great oil painters whose works adorn the walls of the portrait gallery in the Tate. At university I became interested in painters whose work was so realistic and accurate that the paintings looked like photographs. I thought this type of work was amazing and showed real talent. As the years have passed I have found less time for painting but still love imagery and creating beautiful images. I love to record what I see and have focused more and more on photography.
